Applications are now open for the United Nations Nippon Foundation Fellowship 2025. This is a fully funded fellowship that lasts for 9 months, divided into two phases. In Phase One, fellows will spend 3 months at DOALOS at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. In Phase Two, fellows will have 6 months of advanced academic research and study training at one of the prestigious Host Institutions participating in the UNNF fellowship, which are located in Europe, the USA, Australia, Asia, Canada, and other countries.
The UN Nippon Foundation Fellowship offers training for government officials and mid-level professionals from developing countries in ocean affairs, the law of the sea, and related fields like marine science. Fellows will learn about international legal frameworks, key issues, and best practices in ocean affairs and get to know the work of the United Nations.
