The Scholarship to Study in South America is now open for applications. The GCUB-Mob Brazil Scholarship, offered by a group of 55 Group of Brazilian universities, presents a unique opportunity for international students to pursue master’s and PhD programs. Program Overview

The International Cooperation Group of Brazilian Universities (GCUB) has announced the Third Edition of the GCUB International Mobility Program (GCUB-Mob). Various organizations support this program. It aims to help students worldwide achieve a high academic level, promote university internationalization, and strengthen international cooperation between Brazilian universities and other countries. In this edition, 55 Brazilian universities will award over 800 master’s and doctoral scholarships to international students. The programs will start in 2025. Applications open on May 2nd and will close at 11:59 PM (BRT) on June 17th, 2024.

Group of Brazilian Universities (GCUB) Scholarship Coverage and Benefits

Selected students will get the following benefits:

You will get the following benefits if you are selected for the scholarship:

  • There is no need for any enrollment, tuition, or academic fees.
  • You will get a monthly stipend to cover living expenses for the entire program.
  • Applying for the scholarships is free.

Students who receive GCUB scholarships from OSC member states will get extra support. The OSC will give up to $1,500 per student for airfare, visa processing, international medical insurance, and other personal expenses not covered by the GCUB universities.

Group of Brazilian Universities (GCUB) Scholarship Requirements

  • Submit your complete application in English, Portuguese, French, or Spanish.
  • The scholarship is open to citizens of countries that have diplomatic relations with Brazil.
  • Brazilian nationals cannot apply.
  • The scholarship does not cover airfare, visa processing, or health insurance.
  • Submit your educational documents.
  • Each candidate can apply for up to five master’s or doctoral programs at different universities.

Required Documents

Candidates must upload the following documents in the online application:

  1. Copy of Passport or any other identity document
  2. CV
  3. Copies of all previous educational certificates, diplomas, transcripts, and degrees.

Additionally, submit an essay following these guidelines:

  • Font: Times New Roman
  • Font size: 12
  • Line spacing: 1.5 cm
  • Margins (top, bottom, right, and left): 2.5 cm

Essays Contents

Essay 1: Write about your academic interests and goals, your career plans, and how you plan to contribute to your home country when you return (maximum 1,000 words).

Essay 2: For each Master’s or PhD course you’re interested in, write a text of up to 4,000 words. Include these sections:

  • Why did you choose this course?
  • The main topic and what you want to research.
  • What exactly you’re studying, and why?
  • What other studies have said about your topic?
  • How do you plan to study it?
  • Your schedule
  • List of books and articles you referred to

Note: The research proposal you write in Essay 2 will be used to evaluate your application. It might change later, after you start the course if your supervisor professor suggests changes to better match the course’s research focus and make the proposal more doable.

To apply for the 2024 Group of Brazilian Universities Scholarship, follow these steps:

1. Visit the official website to go to the scholarship application portal.

2. Fill out the application form in the Call For Application section.

Applications open on May 2, 2023, and close at 11:59 PM (BRT) on June 17, 2024. The list of successful applicants will be announced on September 25, 2024.

Result Announcement

The names of the individuals who got the scholarship will be shared on September 25, 2024. The scholarship will start in 2025.
