The scholarship is available for single or double undergraduate courses offered by Swinburne University of Technology these courses are as follows 

• Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology 
• Bachelor of Business Information Technology (Professional) 
• Bachelor of Accounting and Business Information Technology (Professional) 

This scholarship helps Australian students to achieve their potential. The Foundation is providing a scholarship of  $40,000  in addition to this also provides an opportunity for an ongoing mentor relationship with a member of The Order of Australia who is eminent in the awardee’s chosen field of study.

Brief Description of Order of Australia Scholarship 

Courses Eligible for Order of Australia Scholarship 

The following single or double undergraduate courses are offered by Swinburne University of Technology:

• Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology 
• Bachelor of Business Information Technology (Professional) 
• Bachelor of Accounting and Business Information Technology (Professional) 

 Eligibility Criteria for Order of Australia Scholarship 

• Applicant must be an Australian student 
• Students are required to have a letter of recommendation 
• Applicants must be a continuing second-year Swinburne student in 2023
•  Applicants must be enrolled full-time in an eligible course
• Applicants must be studying on-campus
• Applicant must be both physically and mentally fit 
• Only Australian students are eligible
• Students belonging to other nationalities   are not eligible for this Scholarship program
• Students having the excellent academic record will be preferred

Benefits of Order of Australia Scholarship 

• A scholarship of $40,000, paid in equal tranches over two years, which is tailored to the Awardee’s individual needs to cover expenses such as tuition fees, accommodation, and other expenses
• the opportunity of an ongoing mentor relationship with a member of The Order of Australia who is eminent in the awardee’s chosen field of study.
• The Scholarship awardee will be required to participate in the Scholarship presentation ceremony at the Annual Conference of the Order of Australia Association in Perth in 2024. The Award presentation will be made by the Governor-General. 
• Travel and accommodation will be provided for the awardee and 2 family members to attend the ceremony.

Documents required for Application 

Before applying make sure to have all these documents  with you

• Provide an academic transcript of study to date. Preference will be given to high-achieving students.
• Submit a personal statement (500 words) addressing the following points:
  1. a passion for a career in the chosen field of study
  2. demonstrated involvement in the community (supported by certificates/letters of participation)
  3. leadership attributes
  4. how this scholarship would assist you to achieve your goals
• Provide evidence of economic disadvantage. Disadvantage(s) may include financial hardship or low-socioeconomic status. Evidence can include, but is not limited to:
  1. Centrelink statement or payslips
• Provide two written referee reports outlining suitability for the scholarship:
  1. Academic reference – from a person qualified to comment on academic studies, such as a subject coordinator, school principal, etc;
  2. Character reference – from a person competent to supply a character reference such as a current or past employer or community organization leader
