This scholarship is open to only Australian students belonging to any Australia. Access Scholarships are funded by the Department of Education’s Higher Education Participation and Partnerships Programme (HEPPP). HEPPP aims to ensure that Australians from low SES backgrounds who have the ability to study at university get the opportunity to do so. Students offered an Access Scholarship for First Year Undergraduates may undertake any undergraduate degree course at Swinburne. The Access Scholarship for First-Year Undergraduates is open to students who are commencing their first year of study in Semester 2, 2023
This scholarship helps Australian students to achieve their potential. The Foundation is providing a scholarship of $5,000 for one year only the Applicant must be able to demonstrate the following
- Experiencing financial or personal hardship or low socio-economic status
- A current or previous permanent humanitarian visa holder
- Care Leavers from Australian State or Foster Care
- Have relocated from a rural or regional area in order to study

Courses Eligible for Access Scholarship
Any undergraduate course offered by Swinburne University of Technology.
Eligibility Criteria for Access Scholarship
- Applicant must be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, or holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
- Students are required to have a letter of recommendation
- Applicants must be a commencing first-year Swinburne student in Semester 2, 2023
- Applicants must be enrolled full-time in an eligible course
- Applicant must be both physically and mentally fit
- Only Australian students are eligible
- Students belonging to other nationalities are not eligible for this Scholarship program
- Previous recipients of any type of Swinburne Access Scholarship are not eligible to apply for any other Swinburne Access Scholarship

- Provide evidence of one of the following:
- Experiencing financial or personal hardship or low socioeconomic status (evidence may include Centrelink statements, Health Care Card, or ATO Payment Summary)
- A current or previous permanent humanitarian visa holder
- Care Leavers from Australian State or Foster Care
- Have relocated from a rural or regional area in order to study
- Submit a personal statement (500 words) addressing personal and/or financial disadvantages
