For Participants in Visual Arts

  • You need to have done a lot of good work.
  • You should have worked as a professional artist for at least five years.
  • And you’ve had your solo art show, too.

Film and Video

  • People applying for Film and Video positions need to show that they’ve done really well in video festivals, movies, or on TV.

For Participants in Fiction and Non-Fiction

  • Must have written at least one book.
  • They should have a deal to publish their writing.
  • They must have published at least three pieces, not just short, like a newspaper article.
  • People applying for journalism need to have worked in the field for five years.
  • For playwriting, they should have done their successful work, and it can be a play that’s been put on.

Journalism

  • Individuals applying need to have worked in their field for at least five years.

Playwriting

  • Applicants need to have done something impressive in their work. 
  • It could be putting on a play or something related to that.

Poetry

  • Applicants need to have either published at least 20 poems in the last five years or written a book of poetry. 
  • They should also be finishing up a manuscript.

Music Composition

  • We prefer applicants with a PhD or DMA, but it’s not required.
  • Applicants should be professional artists and have recent experience performing.
