US South Pacific Scholarship Program 2025 (Fully Funded)

Applications are now open for the US South Pacific Scholarship Program 2025. This is a great opportunity for students from Pacific Island countries to study for undergraduate and master’s degrees at the University of Hawai‘i.

The U.S. South Pacific Scholarship Program (USSP), funded by the U.S. Department of State, helps students from Pacific Island countries earn Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at the University of Hawai‘i. The program supports studies in areas that will benefit Pacific Island countries’ development while promoting cultural exchange with the United States. Run by the East-West Center, the scholarship includes mentoring, possible internships, and chances to participate in community activities like staying with a host family.

Eligibility Criteria for the US South Pacific Scholarship Program 2025

  • For Bachelor’s applicants: Must have finished secondary school (e.g., Form 6 or Grade 12).  
  • For Master’s applicants: Must have completed a three-year undergraduate degree.  
  • Preference will be given to those with little to no experience studying in the U.S. or abroad.  
  • Applicants cannot have dual U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency.  
  • Must meet the requirements for the Exchange Visitor (J-1 visa) program.
